Cox Powers Purdue Past Northwestern

C.J. Cox scored 27 points, including 21 in the second half, as No. 14 Purdue rallied to beat Northwestern 70-66.

The Boilermakers avoided a third straight loss behind Cox's scorching second-half performance. Purdue trailed early but went on a 9-0 run to tie the game at 43-43. Cox's clutch shooting, including a fade-away 3 with three minutes left and another corner 3 with 48 seconds remaining, helped secure the victory.

Trey Kaufman-Renn contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds despite briefly leaving with a shoulder injury. Gicarri Harris also hit a crucial 3-pointer during a 13-0 Northwestern run. Purdue's eight turnovers in the first half contributed to their slow start, but they managed to overcome the miscues to improve their record.
