Louisiana LHSAA Rejects One-Time Transfer Rule

At the LHSAA convention in New Orleans, the association voted 82% (287 out of 346) against a one‑time transfer rule that would allow students to become immediately eligible after a single transfer. The measure was rejected by principals and administrators who cited concerns about its impact on smaller schools.

Opponents, including Principal Troy Fontenot, argued that the rule could disadvantage small schools and create inequities. The decision keeps Louisiana’s current eligibility restrictions in place.
