San Diego Padres pitcher Matt Waldron has undergone surgery for an infection in his rear end, adding to his injury struggles.

The 29-year-old knuckleballer required surgery for the infection, which further complicates a season already hampered by injuries. Waldron made only one start in June after an oblique issue during spring training and finished the campaign in Triple-A.
