After Julian Blackmon's season-ending injury in the opening game, Sanker started the last 16 games and played 89% of the team's defensive snaps. He emerged as a key figure on a defense that ranked 4th against the pass and 9th overall.
The 3rd round draft pick showed excellent range and natural instincts as a deep safety, along with being an outstanding tackler in open space. Despite some inconsistency down the stretch, Sanker's performance established him as a building block for the Saints' secondary.
