The U.S. men's hockey team's dramatic overtime victory over Canada in the gold medal game averaged 20.7 million viewers across NBC platforms, NBC announced Tuesday.

The Olympic men's hockey gold medal game between the U.S. and Canada was watched by 20.7 million viewers across NBC, Peacock and USA Network. The average live audience was recorded at 18.6 million viewers on NBC and Peacock between 8:15 a.m.-11 a.m. ET, making it the second-most watched hockey game ever on NBC after the 2010 men's gold medal game between the two countries.

Jack Hughes' overtime winner lifted the U.S. over Canada for their first men's Olympic hockey gold medal since the 1980 "Miracle on Ice." The U.S. women's team also defeated Canada in the gold medal game, drawing 5.3 million viewers on USA Network and Peacock, setting a record for the most-watched women's hockey game.
