A Texas grand jury has declined to indict former NBA guard Patrick Beverley on one count of assault of a family member. Beverley had been arrested in November after his sister alleged he grabbed her by the neck, slammed her against a wall, and punched her in the face following an incident where she sneaked out to see her boyfriend.
Beverley's attorneys stated he "would never do anything to harm his sister" and expressed gratitude for the grand jury's decision. The 12-season NBA player, who last played for the Milwaukee Bucks, posted on X that he was "deeply grateful" and emphasized the need to "protect our children, especially our young girls."
