Cam Newton’s new show gets canceled after only 8 episodes

Former New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton’s show, “106 & Sports,” is coming to an end this winter.

Newton played for the Patriots in 2020. The 36-year-old started in 15 games for New England, throwing for 2,657 passing yards along with an 8-10 TD-INT ratio. Newton reached the apex of his career in 2015, when he won the AP NFL MVP award as a member of the Carolina Panthers. The Georgia native has hosted multiple podcasts dating back to 2018.

According to Complex, “106 & Sports” will not be returning to BET+ following their lone, eight-episode season.

Newton hosted “106 & Sports” along with Ashley Nicole Moss. Guests included former NBA G League star and recording artist LiAngelo “Gelo” Ball, NBA great Gary Payton and WWE superstar Bianca Belair.

Newton recently made headlines with his message to Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, following the team's loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX.

"Contrary to what people may believe about my relationship or how I feel about Drake Maye, I'm extremely proud of how he handled himself throughout the whole season. Drake Maye, message to you. I will allow myself, if I'm you, to feel every emotion of this game," Newton said on ESPN's First Take. "Are you disappointed? You should be. But understand this, this game wasn't just on what you did. ...This season was not a failure. You made leaps, strides and bounds to becoming an MVP candidate. ...It is only the beginning, not the end."

Leech Lake to host 2026 Bassmaster College Championship

Feb. 16—WALKER — The Bass Anglers Sportsman Society has announced the 2026 Strike King Bassmaster College Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops will be held Aug. 20-22 on Leech Lake in Walker, marking the first time the prestigious collegiate event has visited the storied fishery.

College anglers from across the country will compete for a national title on Minnesota's third-largest lake.

Full tournament details, including takeoff and weigh-in locations, will be announced at a later date. Fans will be able to follow the action through live coverage, daily weigh-ins and updates on

Bassmaster.com.

"Leech Lake is an incredible fishery that will challenge every team in the field and reward anglers who can adapt," said Glenn Cale, B.A.S.S. Tournament Manager for the College, High School and Junior Series. "We are excited to bring the College Championship to Minnesota for the first time and to showcase Leech Lake to a national audience. This will be the first College tournament held on Leech Lake, and we believe it will provide a memorable and competitive championship experience for these student-anglers."

In August, competitors can expect classic northern patterns to come into play. With water temperatures typically warm and vegetation at its peak, largemouth bass are often found relating to thick grass, docks and shallow cover, while smallmouth bass may group up on rock structure, mid-lake humps and points.

The expansive nature of Leech Lake will reward teams who can manage long runs, locate productive areas and adjust to changing wind conditions, which can play a significant role on the broad, open basins.

With a national championship on the line and a legendary northern fishery awaiting, the 2026 Strike King Bassmaster College Championship presented by Bass Pro Shops promises three days of intense competition and an unforgettable experience for the next generation of bass fishing stars.

Asuka and Je'Von Evans are the latest entrants into the upcoming Elimination Chamber matches after defeating Nattie and Bayley, and GUNTHER and Dominik Mysterio, respectively, on "WWE Raw." Asuka joins Tiffany Stratton, Rhea Ripley, and Alexa Bliss in the structure, and Evans joins Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and LA Knight.

The women kicked off the qualifier matches with some hard-hitting action. Bayley almost had the match won with an elbow drop to Asuka, but Nattie broke up the pin. Nattie hit Bayley with a German suplex on the apron, but Asuka pulled "The Low Key Legend" back into the ring to get her into the Asuka Lock.

Nattie hit a sit down powerbomb to Asuka, who kicked out, but Nattie got her into the sharpshooter. Bayley broke the hold with a running knee to Nattie and followed it up with Bayley-to-Belly to Asuka. Asuka countered the Rose Plant and got Bayley into the Asuka Lock, and Bayley tapped.

On the men's side of things, Evans and GUNTHER immediately locked up, with Mysterio wanting no part in it. He couldn't escape "The Ring General" for long, however, who bullied him around on the outside until Evans took them both out with a huge leap over the ropes.

GUNTHER was in control for a good portion of the match and at one point, power bombed Mysterio right on top of the back of Evans. At one point, Evans looked for an OG Cutter, but GUNTHER caught him and got him in a sleeper. Mysterio tried to capitalize with a frog splash and set GUNTHER up for the 619, but was hit with a clothesline instead.

Dragon Lee appeared and took GUNTHER out with the ring bell, as the pair continue their feud following GUNTHER retiring AJ Styles. With GUNTHER down, Mysterio missed a frog splash and Evans hit the OG Cutter for the win.
