The latest trade rumor on Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby isn't the best news for potential suitors like the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys and, New England Patriots.
ESPN's Adam Schefter said on Tuesday he does not expect the Raiders to budge much on their high asking price for Crosby, which is two first-round picks and a player, the same deal the Cowboys got for Micah Parsons.
Schefter adds that if the Raiders don't get what they want, the team might be prepared to move forward with Crosby on the team.
“I don’t expect the price to go down much [on Maxx Crosby],” Schefter explained on The Pat McAfee Show. “I think the Raiders would be prepared to keep Maxx Crosby if they don’t get the price they want."
"They’re looking for a Micah Parsons type of package," he added. "Are they going to get that? I don’t know. If they don’t, then what do they do?”
At this point, it would seem that the only way the Raiders would come off their astronomical asking price is if Crosby requests a trade.
On that front, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that Crosby does not plan to request a trade, which means the Raiders can sit on their price and just keep him if they don't get it.
By all accounts, the Raiders have no desire to trade Crosby based on comments from head coach Klint Kubiak and general manager John Spytek.
"We want him to be a part of our success going forward. There's no doubt about that," Kubiak said during his introductory presser.
"I do," Spytek said when asked if he thinks Crosby will be a Raider.
All of this stinks for the Cowboys, Eagles and Patriots, teams that likely have their eye on the situation and are interested in Crosby.
It's doubtful any of the three would pay the price the Raiders are requesting, and with Las Vegas not looking to budge off that, a trade remains unlikely.
