For fans of the Boston Celtics who enjoyed the play of now-Brooklyn Nets forward Josh Minott, and missed his frenetic energy on the court, seeing the Florida native playing well for the Nets in Boston's 148-111 demolition of Brooklyn was bittersweet. Looking like himself again after a long injury that likely played a factor in his eventual trade to the Nets, the visual reminder of the Lawnmower's motor was evident.
Minott spoke to the media about his ankle and trade to Brooklyn after the game, saying his ankle sprain was "getting better in every aspect," and that he was "just putting the finishing touches on my ankle."
"Getting better defensively, just getting back into rhythm, and it’s really just getting one percent better every day," he added.
"I’d say it was probably like my first real taste of adversity since I got drafted," related Minott of the serious ankle sprain. "Thank God I’ve been healthy for the majority of my career. That was definitely a mental test for sure."
"Boston staff really helped with my recovery process. Brooklyn has as well, since I’ve been here it’s more fine tuning now, but it’s different when one day you’re doing crazy dunks, the next day, you can’t walk, you know?"
