Inter Milan are closing in on a move for Vasilije Kostov, the 17-year-old Crvena Zvezda midfielder who has taken Serbian football by storm this season and attracted interest from clubs across Europe.
According to Sport.sport.ba, via FCInterNews, Inter are the club closest to signing Kostov and are ready to meet the asking price.
The Nerazzurri would pay over €20 million to secure his signature.
Indeed, a figure that would make the teenager the most expensive player ever to leave Serbian football.
Kostov has been exceptional for Crvena Zvezda this season, contributing 11 goals and six assists in 32 appearances.
Scouts from across the continent have made the trip to Belgrade to watch him in person, but Inter appear to have stolen a march on the competition.

One significant ace up Inter’s sleeve is the involvement of Dejan Stankovic.
The Nerazzurri legend is the current Crvena Zvezda head coach.
And the relationship with the club could prove decisive in convincing Kostov to choose Milan over rival suitors.
Should a deal be agreed in the coming weeks, Inter have a clear plan for the youngster’s development.
The club could send him out on loan to a Serie A side to ease his transition into Italian football.
Or, alternatively, integrate him gradually into the first-team setup at the Pinetina.
Either way, the Nerazzurri are moving with purpose and intent to land one of European football’s most exciting teenage talents.
