The Philadelphia Eagles have long built a reputation as one of the league's premier franchises. No team is perfect, though. Occasionally, there has been some back-and-forth about how well they have done in talent development.
That may be a bit unfair. Every team has its hits and misses. One thing we can typically rely on when it comes to Philadelphia's roster, however, is the talent they've been able to find at the tight end position. The Birds have gone from Chad Lewis and L.J. Smith to Brent Celek and Zach Ertz. Last season, Dallas Goedert set a franchise record for regular-season TDs scored at the tight end position.
Godert, Grant Calcaterra, and Kylen Granson are all impending free agents this season. Goedert has already been described as someone the Birds want to hang on to.
He'll need help, though, and it appears leadership is doing all it can to find him some by interviewing some of the top talent at the position at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. That brings us to the perceived top TE prospect in the 2026 draft class, Kenyon Sadiq.
Kenyon Sadiq compliments the Eagles at the NFL Combine.
Sadiq's final season at the NCAA level was certainly one to remember. He won First-team All-Big Ten honors and was named Big Ten Tight End of the Year.
He caught 51 passes in 2025, leading to 560 yards and eight touchdowns. At the NFL Combine on Thursday, he said he hadn't spoken with the Eagles yet, but he expressed his admiration and said that Philadelphia would be a team he'd like to play for.
Oregon TE, Kenyon Sadiq has not met with the Eagles yet, but is high on the organization, how they develop the TE position and Dallas Goedert.

For a prospect expected to hear his name called early, that praise carries weight. It also isn't unfounded. At tight end, the Eagles have historically valued versatility, players who can block in-line, stretch the seam, and win contested catches. It's a role that demands polish and toughness, two traits Sadiq has displayed throughout his collegiate career.
What makes his comments intriguing is the timing. Again, the Eagles have been heavily scouting the tight end class at the NFL Combine, and while it seems Sadiq will probably already be off the board by the time the Eagles are on the clock, when the top tight end in the class openly compliments your organization, it's at least worth noting.
