There are six teams competing for three spots in the Champions League.

From second-placed AC Milan to Atalanta this week, they’re all fighting for a spot in the top European competition. Allegri recently set the Champions League quota at 74 points, but according to Fabio Capello, they’ll need even fewer.

The former coach told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “I think fewer will ultimately be enough. Also because, with so many head-to-head matches, everyone will inevitably lose something.”

On Sunday, Roma vs. Juventus: “It will already be a decisive match for the Old Lady, but less so for the Giallorossi. Spalletti seemed to be on the right track, but the second half in Istanbul against Galatasaray and the bad defeat against Como last week have plunged the Bianconeri back into difficulty.”

“Losing in Rome would likely mean slipping to within seven points of the Champions League spot, if Napoli were to win in Verona. The situation would become very complicated.”

Roma risks being the only team still playing in Europe: “On the one hand, it’s a credit and an opportunity, because Gasperini can seriously challenge for the trophy. He already accomplished something with Atalanta. On the other hand, being the only team with two games a week could be a small burden in the race for fourth place, that’s undeniable.
