Northern Irish FA Withdraws Support for Infantino

The Northern Irish Football Association has withdrawn its support for Gianni Infantino as FIFA president, citing fundamental questions about his strategy, governance, and asset management.

The Northern Irish Football Association announced Tuesday it will not vote for Gianni Infantino's re-election as FIFA president, citing his "hardly criticized project" that raises "fundamental questions" about his leadership. The association stated that plans to sell parts of FIFA's assets to a private equity company without consultation represent more than a communication failure, but issues of strategy, governance, and asset management.

Other associations including England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Norway, and Denmark have previously withdrawn support for Infantino or called for his resignation. UEFA has been critical of the Swiss president and is considering a vote of no confidence, with support from Asian Football Confederation and Concacaf. rocore.sbs
