Sheffield United Owners Under EFL Probe

The English Football League is investigating Sheffield United's owner COH Sports over allegations they created a new parent company to avoid paying £35m owed to previous owner Prince Abdullah.

COH Sports, led by Steven Rosen and Helmy Eltoukhy, agreed to purchase Sheffield United from Prince Abdullah for approximately £100m in December 2024. While they paid an initial instalment of around £30m, they are alleged to have been late on the second payment and have since missed two subsequent instalments due this year.

Abdullah's investment vehicle, United World, has issued a winding-up petition against COH Sports in the high court and has raised concerns with both the EFL and the Independent Football Regulator. The investigation centers on claims that the new parent company structure was designed to circumvent the full purchase price owed to the previous owner. sport-ipl.my
