A significant crash occurred with 180km remaining, involving Visma-Lease a Bike's Bruno Armirail, Vacek, and three Netcompany Ineos riders. The incident appears to have been caused by a rider attempting to pass Armirail on the inside, with the Frenchman suffering a knee injury that could affect his role as a helper for Jonas Vingegaard. Matthew Riccitello of Decathlon CMA CGM Team also required medical attention.
