Gary Woodland reveals battle with PTSD after brain surgery

PGA Tour star Gary Woodland has revealed his ongoing battle with post-traumatic stress disorder following brain surgery to remove a benign lesion.

Woodland underwent surgery in September 2023 to remove a benign tumor pressing on the fear center of his brain. Following the procedure, he experienced severe panic attacks and tremors before being diagnosed with PTSD in 2023.

Despite returning to action four months later and winning the Houston Open in 2026, Woodland admitted he still struggles with the psychological effects of the ordeal. "I feel like I'm living a lie," he shared regarding the anxiety he faces on tour.
