Badosa earns Linz Open wild card after Charleston run

After reaching the round of 16 in Charleston, Paula Badosa earned a wild card into the Linz Open, where she hopes to regain a top‑100 ranking.

Badosa, who cracked the round of 16 at the Charleston Open, lost to Anna Kalinskaya in straight sets but secured back‑to‑back wins over Kayla Day and Maria Sakkari. The Spanish player, ranked No.102, was rewarded with a wild card for the inaugural WTA 250 event in Linz, Austria, starting April 6.

With only eight top‑40 players in the draw and several withdrawals, the Linz Open offers Badosa a chance to play freely and close the gap to the top 100. She joins fellow wild‑cards Mirra Andreeva, Alexandra Eala, Ekaterina Alexandrova and Jelena Ostapenko in the field.
