Rahm Accuses European Tour of Extortion

Jon Rahm has accused the DP World Tour of extortion in his ongoing conflict with the European circuit over participation requirements.

The Spanish golfer claims he and other LIV Golf players are being pressured to sign a two-way agreement. Under this deal, they would be exempt from fines for playing Saudi LIV tournaments this year but must settle pending debts and play a minimum number of European Tour events.

For Rahm specifically, avoiding financial sanctions requires participation in six European Tour tournaments, with two chosen by the organization. However, he refuses to play more than the four tournaments required to maintain his tour card, calling the terms unacceptable.
