Colts Optimistic About Ward's 2026 Future

The Indianapolis Colts remain optimistic about cornerback Charvarius Ward's future with the team for the 2026 NFL season despite his concussion history.

Ward suffered three concussions during the 2025 season, including one during warmups that caused lingering symptoms. After the season, Ward expressed uncertainty about his NFL future, stating another concussion might force him to retirement. However, nearly two months later, general manager Chris Ballard and head coach Shane Steichen both report Ward is in a good frame of mind and looking to return. 'He's in a good frame of mind... all indications is he's wanting to move forward and play,' Ballard said.
