Torino sacks Baroni, hires D’Aversa as coach

Torino fired Marco Baroni after a 3-0 defeat to Genoa and immediately appointed former midfielder Roberto D’Aversa as head coach.

Torino dismissed coach Marco Baroni following a 3-0 loss to Genoa, marking the club's fourth consecutive winless match across all competitions. The team finished the game with ten men for the second half and sits 15th in Serie A, just three points above the relegation zone.

The club named 50‑year‑old Roberto D’Aversa, a former Serie A midfielder who has managed Empoli, Lecce, Sampdoria, Parma and Virtus Lanciano, as the new manager. D’Aversa signed a contract until June 30.
