Australian pace spearhead Megan Schutt delivered an outstanding opening over, claiming the crucial wicket of India's opener Rawal in the first women's ODI. The experienced South African-born bowler, who wasn't selected in the original ODI squad, showed her class with a brilliant delivery that jagged massively off the pitch, pinning Rawal on the crease.
Rawal reviewed the decision but DRS didn't save her, giving Australia a perfect start to the match at Allan Border Field. Schutt almost had another breakthrough when Verma mistimed a straight drive that was just out of reach, as the Australian bowler continued to trouble the Indian batters with her movement and precision.
