Amir Khan Returns to McNeese State After NC State Stint

Amir Khan, the viral manager who led McNeese State’s boombox tunnel walk, has rejoined the Cowboys after a brief stint at NC State. He said he wanted to finish his degree and return home.

Khan, who followed head coach Will Wade to NC State, left after realizing his credits didn’t transfer and that he was pushed back to sophomore status. He returned to McNeese, where the team sits at 23‑5 and is poised for another March run.

The manager, who has become a national talking point for student‑manager roles, said he wants to shine a light on the behind‑the‑scenes work of student managers. His return brings a familiar soundtrack to the Cowboys’ home games.
