Pirates' Rotation Compared to Braves Dynasty

MLB analyst Dan Plesac compares the Pirates' young pitching staff to the Braves' legendary rotation, calling it the most exciting Pirates team in years.

The Pittsburgh Pirates' young pitching staff, featuring talents like Paul Skenes and Bubba Chandler, has drawn high praise from MLB analyst Dan Plesac. The former Pirates pitcher compared the current rotation to the legendary Braves teams of the early 1990s that featured Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, John Smoltz and Steve Avery.

"It's a very good rotation," Plesac said on MLB Network. "It reminds me a little bit going back... of some of those young pitching staffs of the Atlanta Braves." With the Pirates also improving their lineup this offseason, Plesac noted he hasn't been this enthusiastic about the team going into a season in four or five years.
