Mason Apologizes for Pre-Broadcast Drinking

Australian sports presenter Danika Mason apologized on Thursday after drinking alcohol before a Channel Nine live Winter Olympics broadcast, causing her to slur words and go off-topic.

Mason took full responsibility for the incident, stating "it's not the standard I set myself" and she "shouldn't have had a drink." She also noted that the weather and not eating beforehand didn't help.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed support for Mason, saying "I'm pro Danika. Good on her" and suggesting her performance may have been affected by tiredness due to the time difference while covering the Olympics in Italy.
