Hurley Slams UConn Defense After Loss to Creighton

UConn coach Dan Hurley criticized his team's defense as 'a joke' following the Huskies' 91-84 loss to unranked Creighton on Wednesday.

Hurley was particularly displeased with the defensive effort, stating 'The defense has been a joke' and noting 'just really bad individual defense' that allowed Creighton to score 45 first-half points. Freshman Braylon Mullins led UConn with 25 points despite missing part of the second half with an injury.

The loss comes as UConn faces a challenging stretch with games against second-ranked Villanova on Saturday and third-ranked St. John's next Wednesday in the Big East conference.
