Buehler Signs Minor League Deal with Padres

Former Dodgers starting pitcher Walker Buehler has signed a minor league deal with the San Diego Padres after spending time with both the Red Sox and Phillies last season.

Buehler, who pitched for the Dodgers from 2017-24 and was part of their World Series-winning team, turned down a $20 million offer from Los Angeles before joining Boston. He struggled with the Red Sox, posting a 5.45 ERA in 23 starts before being released and finishing the year with the Phillies, where he had a 0.66 ERA in three appearances.

The Padres, who have faced significant pitching losses this offseason, are hoping Buehler can re-establish himself as a proven MLB starter and fill the fifth spot in their rotation.
