League leaders Larne fall as Coleraine closes gap

Carrick Rangers defeated league leaders Larne 3-2, while Coleraine beat Ballymena United to narrow the gap at the top of the Irish Premiership.

Carrick Rangers stunned league leaders Larne with a 3-2 victory at Inver Park. Danny Gibson gave the visitors the lead before Joe Crowe and Paul Heatley added to make it 3-0 at half-time. Larne responded through Tiarnan O'Connor and Dan Bent but couldn't complete a comeback.

Meanwhile, Coleraine defeated Ballymena United 1-0 at the Showgrounds thanks to Will Patching's first-half goal. The result sees Coleraine close the gap to Larne at the top of the table to just two points, with Larne having a game in hand.
