Iowa Band Member Removed from Life Support

A member of the Iowa marching band was removed from life support after suffering cardiac arrest during a game in extreme heat.

Derek Phillips collapsed shortly before halftime of Iowa's game against Northern Illinois in temperatures exceeding 90 degrees. After suffering severe brain damage, his family decided to remove him from life support on Monday.

'Derek is comfortable, surrounded by family, and enveloped in the music he loved so much,' his family said in a social media post thanking those who supported them during this difficult time. sos-zagle.org.pl
