Giants Cut QB Jake Haener

The New York Giants are waiving quarterback Jake Haener, joining Brandon Allen in being cut from the roster.

The Giants will cut Haener, leaving only Jameis Winston as the backup to Jaxson Dart. The team may re-sign either Haener or Allen to the practice squad.

Haener was signed after the first preseason game and went 9-of-10 for 116 yards and a touchdown. Allen performed well during preseason, completing 26-of-28 passes for 224 yards with two interceptions. chickenroad.qpon
