Braves Extend Chris Sale Through 2027

The Atlanta Braves have secured their ace Chris Sale for another year, agreeing to a one-year, $27 million contract extension that includes a $30 million club option for 2028.

Sale, 36, was set for free agency but will now remain with Atlanta. The deal comes after a dominant 2024 season where he posted a 2.38 ERA and won the NL Cy Young Award despite making only 20 starts due to injury.

Since arriving in 2024, the left-hander has accumulated 10.0 fWAR over 303 innings, solidifying the rotation as the team looks ahead to future labor negotiations.
