Okafor's Jersey Retired at UConn

UConn men's basketball has retired Emeka Okafor's jersey, honoring the former standout as the third player in program history to receive this distinction.

Former UConn star Emeka Okafor became just the third player in program history to have his jersey retired during a special ceremony. The 2004 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player led the Huskies to a national championship that year and was selected second overall in the NBA Draft.

Okafor joins Ray Allen and Donyell Marshall as the only UConn men's basketball players to have their numbers retired. The 6-foot-10 center averaged 17.6 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 4.1 blocks during his three-year collegiate career before embarking on a successful 12-year NBA journey.
