'Guilty of all charges': Man City at centre of 'biggest scandal in football history', vows to appeal

François Picard is pleased to welcome our sports editor, James Vasina, and Andreas Evargora, sports journalist and commentator. Evargora describes the current Manchester City case as unprecedented in scale: “This is nothing of the scale that we’ve seen before.” The case brings together an explosive mix of pressures confronting modern sport like never before: the multibillion-euro business of football, the legal and regulatory mechanisms designed to govern it, and the increasingly complex relationship between sport, political power and international investment. xsportfeed.life

Chiefs LT Kahlil Benson named offensive rookie of the month

The Chiefs haven't had their starting left tackle over the first three weeks of the season. But it's been difficult to notice, given the club's offensive success.

That's part of why Kahlil Benson has been named the league's offensive rookie of the month.

An undrafted free agent out of Indiana, Benson has started each of the first three games, playing 100 percent of Kansas City's offensive snaps. He did not play the position in college.

The NFL cited its Next Gen Stats, noting he’d allowed seven QB pressures in 106 pass blocking snaps, which is the third-fewest among all left tackles this season. Benson also has won the highest percentage of one-on-one matchups (84.0 percent, 89-of-106).

Benson is the eighth offensive lineman to ever win offensive rookie of the month — the first since Quenton Nelson in 2018.

The Chiefs will be on the road to face the Raiders in Week 4.

Zach Charbonnet designated to return to practice

One of Seattle's key offensive players is getting back on the practice field.

Running back Zach Charbonnet has been designated to return to practice, the Seahawks announced on Thursday.

Charbonnet opened the season on the physically unable to perform list after he suffered a torn ACL during the divisional round victory over the 49ers in January.

Because he was on the PUP list, Charbonnet is not eligible to return to play until Week 5. But his 21-day practice window is now open, which means he can participate in football activities during that time before the team must activate him to the 53-man roster.

In 16 games last season, Charbonnet rushed for 730 yards with 12 touchdowns and caught 20 passes for 144 yards.

After hosting the Chargers in Week 4, the Seahawks will host the 49ers for the first of two divisional matchups between the clubs in Week 5.
