UFC Fighter Says 'No One Gives A **** About Women's Sports' — And It Gets So Much Worse

UFCfighterSean Strickland apparently thought the best way to promotehis upcoming match with Anthony Hernandez was to make vulgar, sexist comments about two of the biggest personalities in mixed martial arts.

During a press gathering on Wednesday, Strickland turned a question about the upcomingcoming-out-of-retirement match betweenRonda Rousey andGina Carano into a bizarre rant where he discussed his childhood masturbation habits while trashing women’s sports.

Strickland started off his charm offensive ― minus the charm ― by mocking Paramount+, the streamer carrying Saturday’s match, because it “******* ruined ‘Halo’” by making it “gay,” before referencing the Rousey-Carano match scheduled for May.

“Whoever thought about that?” he wondered, before asking, “Are they gonna be half naked? It might make it a little better.”

Strickland did praise Rousey’s ability ― “That ***** can fight” ― and also said he liked the fact that Carano is “like, super conservative,” before going into a memory no one wanted to hear ― trust us.

“I was like a kid when she fought. I may have jerked off to her once or twice back in the day ... I was like, what, like 12? I was jerking off when I was 12.”

He then suggested that “nobody gives a ****” about the Rousey-Carano fight, but suggested, “maybe put some oil on it, you know. Do some dollar bills. People might give a ****.”

Strickland then claimed that “no one gives a **** about women’s sports,” and that the “weakest, softest ************” attending the presser could easily beat up current female UFC star Amanda Nunes.

But Strickland took great pains to let reporters in attendance know that “there’s nothing wrong with women,” but his reasons seemed straight out of the Stone Age.

“I mean, they do great things. You know, they ******* — they cook, they clean,” he noted, before adding, “There are no women in prison, right? Like, that’s why I didn’t go to ******* prison, knowing I’m gonna have to go be surrounded by a bunch of ******* dudes for 30 years. I’m not doing that **** ... Problem is, we’ve empowered them too much to ruin society.”

You can see the whole bizarre train wreck below.

But this isn’t exactly a surprise for anyone familiar with the mixed martial artist.

Last month, he attacked Hernandez, his opponent this coming Saturday, with a social media post showing himself dressed as an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer and Hernandez in a poncho and sombrero.

Hernandez told a podcast on Tuesdaythat he plans to “******* torture” Strickland when they fight this weekend.

Strickland did comment on his wild Wednesday presser on Thursday, saying he got “rage baited” by a reporter and emphasizing his distaste for Paramount+’s “Halo” show.

Man City vs Newcastle Preview, Title Race Pressure Builds at Etihad

Manchester City return to Premier League action this weekend knowing the margin for error has narrowed once again. With the title race intensifying, every fixture now carries added consequence, and Newcastle’s visit to the Etihad Stadium represents another defining moment in the run in.

City’s renewed belief stems from Arsenal’s recent stumble. Pep Guardiola’s side watched their rivals drop points against Wolves, extending a run that has delivered only two wins in seven matches. That sequence has shifted momentum, even if the table still shows City trailing by five points.

Crucially, Man City hold a game in hand, scheduled against Crystal Palace, and must still host Arsenal before the campaign concludes. Opportunity remains, but it demands near perfection.

Kick Off Details and Broadcast Information

The fixture is set for an 8pm GMT kick off on Saturday, February 21, 2026, under the lights at the Etihad Stadium.

Supporters in the UK can watch live on TNT Sports 1 and TNT Ultimate, while subscribers can stream via the Discovery+ app and website.

Injury Concerns Shape Selection Plans

Fitness doubts hover over several key Man City figures. Erling Haaland missed the squad against Salford after sustaining a knock versus Fulham, placing his availability in question. Jeremy Doku is another concern due to a calf issue, while Savinho remains sidelined with a quad problem.

Defensively and in midfield, Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic are confirmed absentees. Max Alleyne’s status is uncertain after he was forced off in the same Salford fixture.

Newcastle travel south dealing with setbacks of their own. Bruno Guimaraes faces around two months out through injury, a significant blow to Eddie Howe’s midfield structure. Lewis Miley is pushing for a return, offering some relief.

Yoane Wissa picked up a knock in training but is expected to be fit, and Sven Botman could re enter contention after missing the FA Cup win over Aston Villa.

Recent Meetings and Tactical Outlook

This will be the fourth meeting between Man City and Newcastle this season, and their second encounter this month. Previous clashes have demonstrated Newcastle’s ability to disrupt elite sides, including taking points off Guardiola’s men earlier in the campaign.

However, results since the turn of the year have tilted City’s way. Squad depth, control of possession, and home advantage continue to underpin their superiority in this fixture.

Newcastle’s midfield pairing of Joelinton and Sandro Tonali possesses the physicality to compete, yet Guimaraes’ absence reduces their progression through central areas. Questions controversial remain around defensive resilience and attacking output.

If Haaland is fit enough to start, City’s cutting edge increases significantly. In matches defined by narrow margins, his presence inside the penalty area often proves decisive.

Score Prediction

Given the stakes and Newcastle’s injury list, this shapes as a tense, tactical contest rather than a goal fest.

2026 NFL Free Agency: 3 Best Fits For Tyreek Hill, Who Might Not 'Have a Lot of Options'

Does Tyreek Hill have any juice left? That’s the question most are asking around the league. Hill suffered a season-ending dislocated knee and ACL injury in September of last season, leading the Miami Dolphins to release the star wide receiver earlier this week as they look to create some cap space. Hill turns 32 years old in March and is a free agent for the first time in his professional career, with FOX Sports' Greg Auman ranking him 27th on his top 100 free agents list. His rehab is going well almost five months out of surgery, and he intends to play in the upcoming season, his agent recently said. However, Hill’s status for the start of the regular season remains up in the air while he rehabs from a significant injury, which could complicate things for teams interested in his services. "He is an older speed receiver coming off a severe injury, with bad off-the-field history," a league source told me. "He won’t have a lot of options if he wants a good amount of money and a clear top-two WR role. But he will have a few." "He’s coming off a career-threatening knee injury at 32. Ask me in November!" an NFL personnel executive told me. However, former Pro Bowl receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who currently trains receivers in the league during the offseason, believes if Hill returns healthy, there will be a strong market for his services, and he can be an asset for a contending team looking to add a final piece for a deep postseason run. "Tyreek Hill is so explosive," Houshmandzadeh told me. "He’s not just quick. He’s quick and fast. It’s a no-brainer if you’re a team that feels like you’re one big-play receiver away [from competing for a Super Bowl]." Houshmandzadeh pointed to the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers and Washington Commanders as potential landing spots for Hill. So, let's rank which of those teams is the best fit for Hill as he picks his next home. 3. Washington Commanders After reaching the NFC Championship Game in Jayden Daniels’ rookie season, Washington took a step back in 2025 by finishing 5-12 on the year. Daniels had trouble staying healthy, finishing the year on injured reserve with a dislocated elbow. Washington struggled to generate explosive plays in the passing game. The Commanders moved on from offensive coordinator Kliff Kingbury and promoted quarterbacks coach David Blough to offensive coordinator. It will be the first time Blough serves as the offensive play caller in the NFL, as the Commanders look to create more balance on offense and run more plays under center. The team’s leading receiver last year, Deebo Samuel, will be a free agent next month. Samuel averaged a career-low 10.1 yards per reception in 2025. So, the Commanders could use more speed on the perimeter to pair with veteran Terry McLaurin. The Commanders finished with just 40 passing plays of at least 20 yards last season, 27th in the league. "I do like the Commanders, because if you put him and McLaurin together, that’s a deadly duo if Jayden Daniels can stay healthy," Houshmandzadeh said. "But I know 1000% that Jayden Daniels wants Brandon Aiyuk in Washington. "But that wouldn’t be a bad situation. I don’t know if the Commanders are ready to win at the highest levels like I believe the Chiefs and Chargers can do." 2. Los Angeles Chargers If Hill doesn’t return to his former team, what better place for him to land than their AFC West rival in the Bolts, with one of the most talented throwers in Justin Herbert? "If the Chargers got Tyreek Hill, it might be game, set, match," Houshmandzadeh told me. "Tyreek Hill, with that arm Justin Herbert has — people think Tyreek Hill is going to lose a step. But this ain’t 1995, 2000. Man, this boy is going to bounce back like a basketball. "This is a small bump in the road. Tyreek Hill is still going to be faster than everybody. Okay, he loses a step. He’s still faster than everybody — he’s just not WAY faster than everybody." However, things to consider for the Chargers are stunting the development of young playmakers like Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, Tre Harris and Oronde Gadsden Jr., along with Keenan Allen returning in free agency. Also, Hill has off-the-field issues to consider for an ownership group that usually does not bring in players with character issues. And lastly, what is Hill’s relationship like with former Miami head coach and new Chargers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel? "If the Chargers don’t go after Tyreek Hill, it will tell me that him and Mike McDaniel didn’t have the best of relationships," Houshmandzadeh told me. "Or, that Mike McDaniel didn’t think much of him as a leader. "Because when you get to Tyreek’s stature in the league, with as many years as he’s played and the success he’s had, you’ve got to be a leader in every team that you’re on. So, if the Chargers don’t go after him, that just tells me that McDaniel didn’t like Tyreek on his team as a leader." 1. Kansas City Chiefs Former Kansas City teammate Chris Jones has already begun the courting process for Hill, saying it’s time on X. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes recently restructured his contract to create more cap space for his team. But Kansas City remains tight against the cap, potentially restricting moves they could make in free agency. The Chiefs certainly could use help on the perimeter, though, after finishing their first losing season with Mahomes under center. Kansas City averaged 6.8 yards per pass attempt in 2025, tied for 21st in the NFL. Offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy recently returned to Kansas City and the Chiefs offer familiar surroundings for Hill, including those who know how to best use him on the field. "I don’t think the Chiefs have been the same offensively since Hill left," said Houshmandzadeh. "Yeah, you can say they won the Super Bowl when he left. But they did not instill the fear of God in teams when they left. "They were winning games because of their defense, not because of their offense. Tyreek goes back to the Chiefs, where Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid really know how to use you. And they need you, or it may be over for the Chiefs."

'I can't trust him': Stephen A. Smith, others weigh in on Darryn Peterson

Kansas' Darryn Peterson, a Canton native who attended Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy during his high school years before transferring to Huntington Prep in West Virginia, has been one of the best players in college basketball season — when he's been on the court.

Unfortunately for the Jayhawks, that hasn't happened nearly as much as the NCAA Tournament champion hopefuls might have envisioned.

Peterson's inconsistent availability has been head-scratching at times, as he has played in 15 of Kansas' 26 games this season due to a nagging hamstring injury. He also missed a game against top-ranked Arizona with flu-like symptoms. He most recently subbed himself out early in the second half of Kansas' 81-69 win over Oklahoma State on Feb. 18, and didn't sub back in after playing 18 minutes.

Peterson's participation in games has become a national story in recent weeks, and ESPN's Stephen A. Smith said on Thursday, Feb. 19, that he wouldn't take Peterson No. 1 overall due to the questions surrounding the talented guard.

"There is no team in (expletive) that should grab Darryn Peterson No. 1," he said on ESPN's "First Take." "You cannot do it. The first ability is availability. And my brother, Darryn Peterson, I hope you're watching because I'm talking directly to him, and whoever — his family members, his inner circle, whatever. What the (expletive) is going on? ... This is business. I can't trust him. You cannot be trusted."

The projected No. 1 overall pick of the 2026 NBA Draft is averaging 20 points per game this season on 48.5% shooting and a 43.1% mark from 3-point range. Kansas coach Bill Self said after the game Peterson left due to "cramping," adding he was disappointed because he thought Peterson was "good to go" pregame.

Former Duke star Jay Williams, the No. 2 overall pick of the 2002 NBA Draft to the Chicago Bulls, also questioned drafting Peterson at No. 1.

"If I were a general manager, I would be extremely concerned about Darryn Peterson," Williams said on ESPN's "Get Up" on Feb. 19. "I don't question his talent at all. His talent is the No. 1 pick in the draft. But I would take (BYU forward) AJ Dybantsa because I'm not sure about the availability of Darryn Peterson."

Kansas guard Darryn Peterson (22) and BYU forward AJ Dybantsa (3) are considered two of the top three prospects in the 2026 NBA draft.

ESPN's Scott Van Pelt also questioned Peterson's intangibles on Feb. 18 after Peterson checked himself out of the Oklahoma State game.

“When the presumed No. 1 player sits out a home game against unbeaten, No. 1 Arizona with the flu after having all these questions and managing minutes throughout the season with other issues, it makes people wonder," Van Pelt said. "Not about his talent, but about those intangibles that can’t really be measured."

In a year with multiple high-end NBA draft prospects such as Dybantsa, Duke's Cameron Boozer, Houston's Kingston Flemings and North Carolina's Caleb Wilson, an NBA organization may have second guesses when it comes to Peterson as a prospect given his recent availability.

At least, according to some NBA experts around the league.
