Carlo Ancelotti's son Davide named new Lille coach
Lille, France: Lille announced on Monday that Brazil assistant coach David Ancelotti, the son of Carlo, would be their new coach, a week after Bruno Genesio's departure.
Ancelotti has signed a two-year deal with the French club but they did not say if he would leave his role in his father's Brazil coaching staff before the World Cup, which runs from June 11 to July 19.
The 36-year-old is in line for his second spell as a head coach having spent six months at Brazilian outfit Botafogo last year.
"I'm very proud and happy," Ancelotti said. "It's an honour to represent Lille.
"They are a serious, ambitious, competitive club who are regularly playing European football," the AC Milan academy product said.
Lille will feature in the Champions League next season after finishing third in Ligue 1, 15 points behind winners Paris Saint-Germain.
The new Ligue 1 campaign begins on the weekend of August 22-23.
Son on track for World Cup with double in 5-0 South Korea win
Los Angeles, United States: Son Heung-min ended his goal drought with a double as South Korea warmed up for the World Cup by hammering Trinidad and Tobago 5-0 in a friendly on Saturday.
The 33-year-old has faced growing questions about his faltering form after scoring only twice for his club Los Angeles FC this season.
His last goal for South Korea came in a friendly against Bolivia in November, 2025.
But the captain was back on target as South Korea cruised past the Caribbean team at their training camp in Salt Lake City, Utah, with fellow striker Cho Gue-sung also hitting a double.
South Korea will face the Czech Republic, South Africa and co-hosts Mexico in Group A and begin their campaign against the Czechs in Guadalajara on June 11.
Son gave his team the lead five minutes before half-time, turning home a low cross in the penalty box.
He doubled their tally minutes later from the penalty spot, drilling the ball into the corner of the net.
It took his international tally to 56 goals in 144 games, two short of Cha Bum-kun's South Korea record.
Q36.5 CLIMATE SOCKS (WHITE) REVIEW
Tested by
Veronika Bracke - Age Group Triathlete
QUICK SUMMARY:
The Q36.5 Climate Socks are lightweight cycling socks made for hot weather riding and long training days. I used them during bike sessions and brick sessions while training in Dubai heat. What I noticed most was how light and dry they stayed, even during sweaty rides. They feel very different from regular cycling socks - thinner, more breathable, and somehow just fresher overall. Best socks I’ve ever had and won’t wear any others until it gets cooler.
WHAT WE LIKED:
* Feet stayed noticeably cooler on hot rides
* Very light and comfortable inside the cycling shoe
* Stayed in place well without feeling too tight
WHAT TO CONSIDER:
* Quite thin, so riders who like cushioned socks may need time to adjust
* Look rather unspectacular
WHO IT’S FOR:
* Triathletes and cyclists riding in warm climates
* Athletes doing long indoor trainer sessions
* Riders who prefer lightweight race-style kit
WHEN TO USE IT:
* Summer training rides
* Indoor cycling sessions
* Race preparation and long endurance days
FINAL THOUGHTS:
I honestly didn’t expect socks to make such a noticeable difference, but after a few long rides in Dubai heat, I kept reaching for these again. They stay much drier than regular cycling socks and don’t get that heavy, sweaty feeling halfway through a ride. Usually my cycling shoes feel like little ovens after an hour, but these definitely helped keep things more comfortable. The material is thin, but not in a cheap way. Once inside the shoe everything just feels lighter and cleaner. I also liked that they didn’t slide down or leave deep marks on the calf after long sessions. Yes, they are pricey for socks, but if you ride a lot in heat, you start appreciating small comfort upgrades more than you expect. Overall, really good summer cycling socks that actually do what they promise.
ATHLETE INSIGHT:
"After long hot rides, my feet still felt surprisingly fresh instead of completely overheated."
