Inter Milan 1-2 Bodo/Glimt – Luis Henrique Insists Nerazzurri “Did Everything To Score But Didn’t Have Luck”

Luis Henrique insists that Inter Milan did everything in their power to overturn a two-goal deficit in tonight’s Champions League loss to Bodo/Glimt.

Speaking to Inter TV via FCInterNews, the Brazilian winger lamented how many chances went begging.

Bodo/Glimt staged another epic upset, picking up a remarkable 2-1 win at San Siro.

For perspective, this was the Norwegian side’s first-ever UEFA victory on Italian soil after six consecutive winless outings in the country.

Meanwhile, Inter have lost a third consecutive Champions League home game and will miss out on the Round of 16 for the first time since 2020/21.

Despite making 30 attempts, including seven on target, Cristian Chivu’s charges scored just once.

However, it was too little too late, as Alessandro Bastoni’s strike served as a mere consolation.

Indeed, Manuel Akanji made a costly error that allowed Bodo/Glimt to open the scoring in the 58th minute, effectively shifting the momentum of the match.

Hakon Evjen doubled the visitors’ advantage 15 minutes later before Alessandro Bastoni pulled one back in the 76th minute to set the final score.

Inter failed to lace up scoring boots tonight, wasting a number of promising chances on either side of halftime.

Unfortunately, those misses came back to haunt them.

“We did everything we could to score against a team that works hard, and we worked hard too,” Luis Henrique said after the game. “But we weren’t lucky enough to find the net.”

Left to lick their wounds, Inter can now focus on clinching their 21st Scudetto, with the Nerazzurri facing Genoa in their next Serie A fixture.

Despite suffering a shock European elimination, Inter are on the verge of winning their second league title in three years.

Indeed, Chivu’s men boast a ten-point lead over second-placed AC Milan after Saturday’s 2-0 win at Lecce.

Therefore, Henrique urged his teammates to finish the job in the domestic championship.

“Now we have to focus on the league, which is the most important thing,” he claimed. “We must do everything we can to win and keep performing well in the other two competitions.”

Meanwhile, speaking to Sky Sport Italia via FCInterNews, Henrique urged his side to respond against Genoa.

“We did everything we could, but we missed out on scoring,” he said. “We weren’t lucky – the ball just wouldn’t go in. Bodo is a strong team, and they’ve proven it to everyone. Today, luck just wasn’t on our side.”

However, he insisted that Inter must bounce back in Serie A.

“We have to be stronger than what happened to us. We need to raise our level in Europe. Now we lift our heads and must do everything to win the league. In the coming years, we have to achieve more in the Champions League.”
