Vincent Kompany has won a title with every club that he has been involved with. As a player, he won league titles with Manchester City and Anderlecht, and even snagged a de facto UEFA Intertoto Cup victory with Hamburg. As a manager, he finished in first place of the EFL Championship with Burnley and the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.
Kompany’s most famous trophy will always be the 2011/12 title with Manchester City where Edin Džeko and Sergio Agüero scored stoppage time goals to steal the Premier League title away from their bitter rival, Manchester United.
But what about Kompany’s tenure at Bayern?
“If it’s about one game,” said Kompany (via @iMiaSanMia). “There was this moment in Stuttgart where Kingsley Coman scored at the last minute. That game practically secured the title for us. I ran and celebrated with the boys, it was a good moment with the boys on the pitch.”
In the February 2025 match, Bayern overcame an early deficit to take a 2-1 lead into the final minutes. Coman’s pressure forced a poor pass back to the goalkeeper, Bayern loanee Alexander Nübel. Coman tapped the ball around Nübel and scored from a wide angle into an empty net. The win propelled Bayern to an eight-point lead over the defending champions, Bayer Leverkusen.
