The Los Angeles Rams are reportedly promoting Nate Scheelhaase to their offensive coordinator position. It was unclear up to now if the Rams were going to go with a new offensive coordinator or not, and according to Adam Schefter (tweet below), we now have our answer.
Scheelhaase had several head coaching interviews this year, but didn’t end up with any of those jobs. The first-time L.A. OC should be able to leverage this new position into more potential head coaching interviews, as long as things go well in L.A. We will find out if he’s ready for the position or not.
It’s an exciting time for the Rams who just made it to the NFC Championship game, and now are going to likely do anything they can to hoist the Lombardi in February of ‘27.
We’ll see what happens, but this promotion for Scheelhaase is big news.
I am guessing we’ll have more on this story to come.
In the meantime, thanks for checking out Turf Show Times and have a great Friday!
1 Free Agent Rams Should Target to Replace Kamren Curl (si.com)
“Despite not making the Super Bowl and employing a 38-year-old quarterback, the Los Angeles Rams might have one of the brightest futures in the NFL. They’re already loaded with young talent on both sides of the ball and are in a great position to improve their roster this offseason.
Not only does LA have two first-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, but they’re expected to be among the top spenders in free agency, equipped with a projected $62 million in cap space. On top of their financial flexibility, the Rams also don’t have to worry much about retaining their own expiring talent. They only have a few key players hitting free agency this offseason, including safety Kamren Curl.“
Three Free Agents Rams Must Puruse in Free Agency (si.com)
“Heading into this offseason, the issues for the Los Angeles Rams are clear: they must improve on special teams and add more talent at cornerback. General manager Les Snead has nearly $45 million in salary cap space to utilize on top of four draft picks in the first 100 selections of the NFL Draft, including two first-round choices.
The Rams have a chance to improve their team quickly and reestablish themselves as the favorites to win Super Bowl LXI next season. With free agency approaching in the coming weeks, Snead and company must be deliberate with who they want to sign this offseason. Having this in mind, let’s look at three free agents Los Angeles must pursue during free agency.“
Random Ramsdom Fandom:
“I think if we somehow get two of these three CBs, Taylor, Jaylen Watson (FA) or Trent McDuffie (trade), we’ll be massively improved over last year. My original think was to save the draft choice in acquiring McDuffie but then I thought, what if we could get the two guys from KC? There would already be a connection there like Verse and Fiske had.
KC restructured Mahomes’ contract but they need to do more just to be compliant. They’re also 4 deep on both the left and right side in their CB room….“
