Pacers forward Aaron Nesmith and guard Kam Jones will not return to Thursday's game against the Wizards due to injuries according to a Pacers social media post.
Nesmith suffered a right ankle sprain in the first half and Jones is dealing with a sore lower back. Nesmith was listed as questionable coming into the game with a lumbar sprain but got tripped up late in the second quarter for an ankle sprain.
Nesmith entered the game averaging 13.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. He scored three points in the first half on 0 of 3 shooting. Jones scored four first-half points on 2 of 2 shooting. The rookie is averaging 3.1 points per game this season.
The Pacers have just eight players available for the rest of the game. All-Star Pascal Siakam, center Ivica Zubac and point guard T.J. McConnell were ruled out prior to the game. Point guard Tyrese Haliburton, forward Obi Toppin and forward Johnny Furphy are dealing with long-term injuries. Two-way contract guard Quenton Jackson was also listed as inactive.
