In the most recent airing of his own co-hosted podcast, "Mind the Game Podcast," LeBron James admitted that he had to make a dietary sacrifice before this year's NBA season, which included avoiding the consumption of wine and his beloved chocolate chip cookies.
While James' diet has certainly kept the superstar in exceptional shape throughout his illustrious NBA career, Iowa women's basketball legend and current Indiana Fever star could not resist the temptation to crack a joke at the expense of the former 2003 No. 1 overall pick.
In the comments on an ESPN Instagram post relaying James' confession, Clark joked that she would rather retire than give up the chocolatey confection, then stated that his willpower to forgo them is what makes him one of the greatest in the game.
"I’d rather retire than do this. This is why he’s him," Clark replied.
As for Clark, the former Hawkeye is currently preparing for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament, which will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from March 11-17.
Although there is still hope to play for the Fever in the 2026 WNBA campaign, stalled CBA negotiations have sounded alarms that the season may not start on time if a deal is not reached soon.
